The Scarlett O-Hara Dress
Here is my dress made from a pair of drapes
and a valance that I found
in a dark and musty
corner of the Ajo Thrift Store a dozen years ago.
I
call it my Scarlett O'hara dress, since I literally cut off
the drapery
pleats and hooks, trimmed the hems and then washed this fantastic
fabric to reinvent it as a dress.
I just had to use the trim that was on
the valance!
And then added a tassel - just to be sure and
keep that Scarlett O'Hara feeling!
I've
worn this to weddings, parties and also
when I was the announcer at a
Spring
Fashion Show a few years ago.
With a veiled vintage hat, it is
quite the outfit!
(Of course, there is always that lingering worry that I may have left the curtain rod attached.)
